AI4HealthyAging Project Annual Meeting

On March 1st, Jacobo Ayensa-Jiménez  and Manuel Doblaré, as part of the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Aragón. attended in Madrid the annual meeting of the project AI4HealthyAging (AI4H) for presenting the progress and provisional results.

The aim of the project is to design intelligent system to improve the diagnosis and prognosis of prevalent diseases in the aging population such as stroke and cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, sarcopenia, Parkinson’s disease, hypoacusia, and prostate and colorectal cancer.

TMELab, as part of IIS Aragon, is involved in these last two workpackages, and its goal is to establish risk indicators of prostate and colorectal cancer from clinical data and medical images, both for improving early diagnosis and assisting physicians in their decisions.

The project AI4HealthyAging, is part of the R&D program “Misiones Inteligencia Artificial” of the Spanish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, part of the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy. Financing comes from Next Generation funds from European Union.

The consortium coordinated by Capgemini is made up of various public and private entities, such as ITAINNOVA, Instituto Cajal, Instituto Aragonés de Ciencias de la Salud, Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Aragón, Universidad Politécnica de Catalunya, Universidad de Valencia, Barcelona SuperComputing Center,  Cruz Roja, Faigesco, BitBrain, Podoactiva, Technaid, Inntegra and Starlab.
