Short Biography

Laura Paz is a Postdoctoral Researcher. She was graduated in Biotechnology by the University of Zaragoza, has a Master Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering.

She also has a Master Degree in Secondary Education Teaching, which has boosted her skills and her liking for dissemination. As a fact, she usually participates in scientific dissemination events, such as the European Project Researcher’s Night, and she has won the second prize of the IV Short Stories Contest at her Sciences Faculty.

Laura’s previous work has been focus on Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) techniques and she is nowadays applying these techniques to her current work on encapsulated cells for regenerative therapy. She is also working on different approaches to develop an in vitro 3D heart model that can be useful for testing several therapeutic treatments, including those regenerative cell therapies.
