ISMAEL PERISÉ

PhD Student

Short Biography

Ismael knew that he wanted to develop a career in science since he was a kid. Despite that, he was not sure about what to do after high school, as he loved biology, geology, chemistry, and almost everything that sounded like sciences; but when he was taught about the cell, its components, and its mechanisms, he decided that it was going to be his field of study.
He graduated in Biotechnology from the University of Zaragoza, carrying out his Bachelor’s Thesis about the “Development of artificial erythrocytes” in KU Leuven, Belgium, as an Erasmus exchange student.
He then enrolled in the Master’s programme in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Zaragoza and completed his Master’s Thesis about the “Development of a biomimetic model for breast cancer metastasis”, in TME Lab.
Ismael is currently a member of the group as a PhD student, carrying out his thesis about  “Microphysiological systems for the development of cellular therapies against brain cancer”, as part of the glioblastoma team.
