Daniel Woods is a PhD student investigating at the moment the effects of particles of graphene on the cardiovascular system, specifically over endothelial cells.

He recieved his bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at the University of Zaragoza which thesis consisted on the study of Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy, a rare mitochondrial disease . He then coursed his master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the same university. His masters’ thesis consisted on the study of the resistance of a type of leukemia to a NK novel treatment. In the following years he had experiences in several laboratories researching on different subjects where he gained experience  as well as a work in clinical trials, which brought him closer to the patients than ever.

Daniel joined the group on June of 2020 thanks to the european Graphene Flagship Project, which aims to find novel uses for graphene materials. His PhD thesis is a collaboration between the University of Castilla la Mancha and The university of Zaragoza.
