Aroa Ejarque Ortiz completed her PhD at CSIC-IDIBAPS-IIBB in Barcelona, focusing on the inflammatory response of glial cells in neurodegenerative diseases. She then carried out postdoctoral research at CIBBIM-Nanomedicine at Vall d’Hebron Hospital, where she concentrated on the role of CD300 receptors in immune responses. She was awarded a Juan de la Cierva fellowship, which supported her ongoing research in these areas.
Subsequently, she worked at BIFI (Institute of Bioengineering of Aragón) at the University of Zaragoza, where she was involved in scientific outreach and citizen science projects.
In January 2025, Aroa Ejarque Ortiz joined the TME Lab as a postdoctoral researcher at IIS Aragón. In this new role, she focuses on studying OOC (organ-on-chip) technology as a tool for a more accurate and physiological approach to understanding cellular behavior.
