Clara Alcaine González has a degree in  Biochemistry (2001) from the University of Zaragoza. She doctorated in 2016 in the department of Anatomy and Histology of the same university. Her doctoral thesis focused on obtain and characterize new cell lines derived from human prostate adenocarcinomas in nude nude mice as an experimental model. She starts her work at the group of Structural Mechanics and Materials Modeling (GEMM) of the University of Zaragoza in 2007 where she began to study how affect mechanical stimuli to cell behavior and tissue engineering.

At the moment, her research lines and expertise include in mechanical biology, confocal microscopy, atomic force microscopy and cell culture microfluidic devices.
